Egg Waffle Making - 雞蛋仔文化體驗

Egg waffles originated in Hong Kong in the 1950s. In order to avoid wasting the cracked eggs, grocery stores added ingredients, such as flour and butter to the egg paste, and then poured them into molds for baking. Later, people designed an egg-shaped mold, so it was named "Egg Waffles". We hope to introduce the history of egg waffles to the local people and the evolution of egg waffles after they were introduced to the West through this event.

雞蛋仔發源自五十年代的香港,當時雜貨店為免浪費這些破裂的雞蛋,於是把麵粉和牛油等食材加入蛋漿裡,然後倒進模具烘焗;後來有人設計雞蛋狀的模具,於是被命名為「雞蛋仔」。我們希望透過這個活動向當地人介紹雞蛋仔的歷史及傳入西方後演變的不同。
